Ukrainian Fest

There’s more to Ukrainian culture than topless activists and being invaded by Russia, y’all. Get in on the dance, music, colourful costumes and varenykies (aka perogies) at Montreal’s 15th annual Ukrainian Fest. 12th Ave. & Bellechasse, 10 a.m.–8 p.m.

The sixth edition of Montreal Oysterfest wraps its two-day stand at Terrasses Bonsecours, so get down there are sample some freshly shucked delicacies, and see the Candian Oyster Shucking Competition at 2 p.m. 364 de la Commune W., 12–10 p.m., $35/$65

Piknic Électronik has brought in a record number of party people this season, and there are still a few weeks to get in on the action. Today the headlining DJ is Heidy P, with Amir Javasoul, Craig Richards, Phénol and Green & Lateez. Parc Jean-Drapeau, 2–11 p.m., $10 before 3 p.m./$15
