Legault in Paris: Talking tariffs with Trump, EVs with Musk, support for Ukraine with Zelenskyy

The four world/business leaders were in attendance at the official reopening of the Notre-Dame Cathedral on Saturday.

Quebec Premier François Legault shared a series of photos of himself in Paris last night, first with President-elect Donald Trump, then with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, then with Elon Musk (Tesla/Space-Ex/X).

All of the aforementioned world/business leaders were in attendance at the official reopening of the Notre-Dame Cathedral.

Legault said that he discussed international trade and EVs with Musk and Quebec’s unwavering support for Ukraine with Zelenskyy, while he and Trump reportedly spoke about Canadian border control and tariffs on Canadian products.

In late November, Trump threatened to impose a 25% tariff on all Canadian goods on day one of his presidency, prompting Legault to state that this would pose “an enormous risk to the Quebec and Canadian economies.”

“With U.S. President-elect Donald Trump to discuss Canadian border control and tariffs on Canadian products.”

“I had the opportunity to meet with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, to reiterate my support and the solidarity of the Quebec nation, which has welcomed thousands of Ukrainian refugees. Quebec is with Ukraine and will be until the end of the war.”

“With Elon Musk to discuss, among other things, international trade and electric vehicles.”
