52% of Quebecers disapprove of the second curfew in Quebec

The second curfew is significantly less popular than the first Quebec curfew in Jan. 2021.

According to a new Mainstreet Research poll, 52% of Quebecers disapprove of the second Quebec curfew, which started on Dec. 31 and will reportedly end on Jan. 17. This is significantly lower than the approval of the first curfew, which according to a Léger poll in Jan. 2021 had an approval of 74%. The first curfew, which began at 8 p.m. nightly (shifted to 9:30 p.m. in the spring), lasted from Jan. 9 to May 28.

News leaked on Wednesday night that the curfew in Quebec is expected to be lifted on Monday, the same day that schools across the province are due to re-open.
