Tonight at Just for Laughs, brilliant comic Maria Bamford performs the first of two solo shows at Place des Arts’s 5e Salle, with opener Jackie Kashian (175 Ste-Catherine W., 9 p.m., $31.06), Nick Kroll and John Mulaney reprise their Kroll Show characters Gil Faizon and George St. Geegland (“Too Much Tuna!”) in the first of three Oh Hello shows at the Gèsu (2102 Bleury, 9:30 p.m., $48.66) and don’t miss the grand finale of Sugar Sammy‘s You’re Gonna Rire show free in Place des Festivals (Vidéotron stage, 9 p.m., free), leading into the Melting Pot Block Party with DJs the Brooks and DJ Yo-C on the adjacent Place des Arts Esplanade.

Osheaga is only a day away, so let the pre-parties begin! Local psych band Elephant Stone plays Divan Orange with Walrus and Pif Paf (4234 St-Laurent, 9 p.m., $13.90), Glasgow electronic producer Sophie plays Newspeak with Thomas White and Ativan Halen (1403 Ste-Elisabeth, 10 p.m., $5/$10) and the MEG festival begins its second weekend with an Osheaga co-pro at le Belmont, with Tibe, Ryan Playground and WYLN (4483 St-Laurent, 10 p.m., $5/$10).
