It’s Restaurant Day in Montreal, where your friends and neighbours whip up their favourite homemade goodies for a community-oriented day of fun and eats in parks, alleyways, frontyards and sidewalks near you.

The second edition of Fresh Paint, CHOQ and Café 180g’s Beats to Eat Sunday Brunch features food by chef MeloGrano (Cuisine Urbaine) and music from DJs Walla P (Voyage Funktastique) and Charles Cozy. 250 Ste-Catherine E., 11:30 a.m.–4 p.m., $5 entry, $5–$10 brunch options

Another brunch and music event in its second edition, Indie Montreal’s Yes No Toaster, goes down at Divan Orange with a set by Saguenay folk band Sweet Grass. See the menu details here. $10 + the cost of the meal/ $12 for the show alone. 4234 St-Laurent, 12 p.m.

Renowned experimental throat singer Tanya Tagaq performed two sold-out performances at Place des Arts this weekend, but there’s another opportunity to see/hear her at la Sala Rossa today. She’ll give a talk and vocal demonstration, alongside her bandmate Jesse Zubot, followed by a Q&A with the audience. 4848 St-Laurent, 2-4 p.m., free 

Montreal music scene usual suspects Kim Ho, Jamie Thompson, Jeff Louch and Chris Velan band together in Apollo Lovely, playing Quai des Brumes tonight with Darianna Everett and Emma Baxter. 4481 St-Denis, 7 p.m., $7 suggested donation

Burlesque icon Dita Von Teese teases her way to Olympia for a performance with Montreal’s own Lavender May and Speakeasy Burlesque. 1004 Ste-Catherine E., 8 p.m., $61.25–$119.33
