There are rival rooftop BBQs on either side of St-Laurent in the lower Plateau today: Tokyo’s second such party of the season, Twice As Nice, has DJs Grandbuda, Groll Street, Forrest, Jay London, MaddieLongLegz, the Holy, Thomas P and “a very special guest,” along with oysters, gourmet BBQ and beer buckets. At B-Side, recurring summer party Daydream has DJs from the bands Seoul and Young Galaxy as well as L.A. Foster, Future Shark, (Cult MTL contributor) Erik Leijon and Passovah Productions’ Noah Bick. Van Horne Station (VHS), a joint venture between Piknic Électronik, Mural Fest and First Fridays, hosts their 2nd block party underneath the Van Horne/Rosemont overpass.
