shineTechnically, I’m on vacation, but since Cult MTL don’t sleep, here’s where you can stay woke this week on some good times, post-festival mania, and then it’s back to my porch for morning beers.

Friday: Gold-front rap agitators les Anticipateurs bring their “Anticipatour” to Club la Boom to launch a new project, G.O.L.F. — that’s “Gangster Original de la Langue Française.”  Get there in time for tribute-set openers Cypress Chill and Slim Charlie. 1254 Stanley, 9 p.m., $16.73

Meanwhile, in the tradition of hip hop with concerns, Quebec mic maven Manu Militari headlines Club Soda with Souldia and Rymz opening up. 1225 St-Laurent, 8 p.m., $20/$25

And if you haven’t in a minute, Get Nice at Blizzarts with Simahlak on the 1s and 2s. 3956 St-Laurent, 10 p.m., free before 11 p.m./$5

Saturday: By all accounts the first edition two weeks back was bumpin’, VHS — a Piknic offshoot in tandem with MURAL fest, First Fridays food truck events and next month’s MRCY Fest in Laval — returns to the Van Horne aquaduct for an afternoon and evening of buck beats, truck eats , live art and mass appeal. Heidy P, DJ Killa-Jewel, the inimitable Alaclair Ensemble and Figure8 b2b FunkyFalz.  5795 de Gaspé, 4 p.m., $10

Sunday: More daytime action at Day Play 2 with Iron Galaxy, Francis Oak and Sexlife in your hearts and ears at non-prof Never Apart. 7049 St-Urbain, 3 p.m., $10

Wednesday: It’s a Socalled back-to-school party, with Random Recipe, Seba, Gigi French and DJ Burt Cokain, at Petit Campus. 57 Prince Arthur E., 8 p.m., $16/$20
