Saturday Spins: Holy Fuck, Prince & Zooey Deschanel, Banks, Lil Jon, Friendly Fires & the Asphodells

The craziest video of 2014, Holy Fuck’s first song in four years & more new tracks and videos.

Banks, “Brain”

L.A. chanteuse Jillian Banks, aka Banks, works the neo-R&B angle on her EP, London, and has been doing tons of touring lately. Yesterday she played SXSW, and earlier this week she dropped this video for a Shlomo-produced track, directed by Barnaby Roper:

Prince and Zooey Deschanel, “Fallinlove2nite”

After Prince appeared on Deschanel’s TV show New Girl, I guess this was bound to happen. Musically, Prince is pretty random these days — first this collab), and then this strangely straight-up dance pop.

Friendly Fires & the Asphodells, “Before Your Eyes”

British indie pop band Friendly Fires have teamed up with the Asphodells (a duo featuring legendary producer Andrew Weatherall) and made a double A-side 12-inch single featuring “Velo” and this tune right here:

Holy Fuck, “Sabbatics”

Toronto’s Holy Fuck is back with their first new song in four years. This is the B-side of a forthcoming seven-inch single that’s being released by Mistletone Records on April 24.

Lil Jon, “Turn Down for What”

This is easily the craziest video I’ve seen in 2014, a shoo-in for next year’s Freakiest Videos list (see last year’s here). The track comes from Lil Jon‘s latest album, Crunk Rock.
