This week in post-Pop hip hop

I’m hardly recovered from the events of last weekend. I even had to sit out the much-anticipated Danny Brown show, even, but he’ll be back, and Cult MTL‘s Erik Leijon and Cindy Lopez went in my place. See their takes here.

MusicIsMySanctuary.com turns six and showcases U.K. dub icon Kode9, Natasha Kmeto, Booty Based Mob and Lexis at Club Lambi. 4465 St-Laurent, 10 p.m., $15

Saturday: BK’s Flatbush Zombies headline MTL for the first time. Cabaret Underworld (1403 Ste-Elisabeth), 8:30 p.m., $25

Meanwhile, Artbeat 9 beams at le Belmont. 4483 St-Laurent, 10 p.m., $10

Beer, Beats and Bacon at Piranha Bar is exactly what it sounds like, with Clarity and his live band in the building and more. Stay greasy. 680 Ste-Catherine W., 9 p.m., $5

If you’re in the mood for roots reggae, Inword front-dread Marky Lyrical launches his solo debut Stardust at Drop the Riddim V.11, backed by Inword and with guest selectors Riddimwise, Kyou and more. Le Belmont (4483 St-Laurent), 10 p.m., $10

Sunday: Athena Holmes is one of MTL’s sweetest voices. She launches her first video backed by a full band, plus openers Woo Me Myth and Nisha Platzer and hostess Tranna Wintour. Le Belmont (4483 St-Laurent), 8:30 p.m. ■
