Ratking, at Il Motore tonight

The Concordia Greenhouse is holding a Valentine’s edition of their house plant sale. Plants for indoor growing range from $3–$10 and have the virtue of not dying two days after you use ‘em to confess your love for someone. 1455 de Maisonneuve W., 11 a.m.–6 p.m.

Rockette’s Lundi Grindhouse has more Italian crime flicks on tap, namely Street Law and The Big Racket. 4479 St-Denis, 5 p.m (films start at 6:15 p.m.), free

For you old-fashioned romantics, Cinéma du Parc is screening Casablanca from tonight through Valentine’s Day, in 35mm glory to boot. 3575 Parc, 6:45 p.m., $11.50

Then there’s Lady Gaga.

Alternately, NYC hip hop crew Ratking play Montreal for the first time. Check our interview with rapper Wiki and producer Sporting Life here. Il Motore (179 Jean-Talon W.), 8 p.m., $11

Like guitars? See indie rock vets Yo la Tengo playing their classics and the strong new stuff off their latest record, Fade. Read our interview with singer/guitarist Ira Kaplan here. Corona Theatre (2490 Notre-Dame W.), 8:30 p.m., $27/$31
