Catch a sneak preview of the new Michael Haneke film Amour, which opens Jan.11, at the PHI Centre. 407 St-Pierre, 7:30 p.m., $13.25

The graduates of Dawson College’s Commercial Photography program will be subjecting their work to public scrutiny (and admiration) at tonight’s vernissage at the Warren G. Flowers Gallery. Dawson College (de Maisonneuve entrance, at Atwater), Large Photo Studio 1G8, 6:30–10:30 p.m., free

Check out the vernissage for We are Drifting, 2013, a collaborative installation by Daniel Joyce and Myriam Moren using International Sign Flags. If you can’t make opening night, the show will be on display on the street level (through windows) to Jan. 10 WWTWO (170 Jean-Talon W.), 7:30 p.m., free

It’s opening night for Timber!, a pure laine circus spectacle presented by Cirque Alfonse for the holiday season. The show runs to Dec. 31; check out a preview clip below. La TOHU (2345 Jarry E.), 8 p.m., $25-42
