Justin Trudeau’s final approval rating is 12 points higher than Pierre Poilievre’s

Trudeau left office on a high note.

According to a study by the Angus Reid Institute, the final approval rating of now former prime minister Justin Trudeau is 47%, 12 points higher than that of Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre, whose favourability sits at 35%.

Poilievre’s net favourability has reached an all-time low of -22%, 20 points lower than Trudeau’s, which was last measured at -2%.

“Trudeau leaves office on a high note. His leadership and opposition to Trump in his final months as prime minister more than doubled his approval rating to 47%, the highest mark recorded since January 2021.”

Liberal leader Mark Carney now leads Pierre Poilievre in net favourability by 37 points.

The Angus Reid Institute conducted an online survey from March 13 to 16, 2025 among a representative randomized sample of 4,009 Canadian adults who are members of Angus Reid Forum.
