Coup! Éric Salvail, host of the En Mode Salvail talk show on Canal V, actually stole the Best TV Personality title away from the queen Mutsumi Takahashi, also topping the new Best TV Host category. But he’s also right behind the perennial Mose Persico in the previous section’s Tackiest Personality, so clearly Quebecers love him and loathe him, too. Another sign of our increasing numbers of francophone voters is the unseating of CKUT’s Underground Sounds by La Soirée est (encore) jeune as Best Radio Show — it’s also #3 Best Podcast. Thanks to everyone who voted for us for Best Newspaper AND Best Magazine, a category we’ve always disqualified ourselves from, following the Mirror’s lead. But since we’re a monthly with a format far from that of a traditional alt news weekly, we figured why not have it both ways and join the magazine ranks. Let’s keep that competition with Voir alive.
