Metalheads most likely already know about the Obscene Extreme festival, but just in case: A show of epic proportions begins at noon today at Théatre Telus featuring Talk Sick, Homolka, Retardnation, Corrupt Leaders, Soil of Ignorance, Fuck the Facts, Putrid Pile and more bands with kind of awesome names. See the full rundown in our Hammer of the Mods column here. 1280 St-Denis, 12 p.m., $51.74 all-in

Vote for the twist party! Montreal band les Séparatwists play Donair Cité’s showspace, Bar 902. 2056 St-Denis, 9 p.m., $5

Montreal folk band Ol’ Savannah launch a new record, On a Trip to Normal, at Divan Orange, with openers Po Lazarus. 4234 St-Laurent, 9:30 p.m., $10

Check out new works by NYC graffiti artists, Dash, Sentwo Figueroa and James Sexer Rodriguez and local artist Étienne Chartrand at a vernissage tonight at the St-Hubert Plaza’s Artgang gallery. Stick around afterwards for soca, Afropop and dancehall monthly Qualité de Luxe with DJs Poirier, Kyou and Mr. Touré. 6524 St-Hubert, vernissage 5–9 p.m., free, afterparty 10 p.m., $4 before midnight/$7

Head to the Montreal Improv Theatre for a trip to Camp Wanapoke, where ‘the nights are long but the shorts are short.’ The cast, starring Emily Bilton, Alex Brown and more will use suggestions from the audience to create outlandish vignettes about camp counsellor life. 3697 St-Laurent, 10 p.m., $8/free with Montreal Improv student card

Over at Datcha, Multi Culti label artist Clarian swoops in for a party post-Euro tour, with Spaceman sharing deck duty. 98 Laurier W., 11 p.m.
