Grab a pint and have a chat about how to make this city better. The first pub night organized by Notre Montréal will have broadcaster Dan Delmar, comedian Jess Salomon and constitutional lawyer Anne- France Goldwater in attendance. Ye Olde Orchard Pub (1189 de la Montagne), 6 p.m.

Montreal singer-songwriter Andrew Johnston (and the Hurricane) launches his new single “Living in a Free World,” a song (and video) about the best that this city has to offer. Opening the show is Galen Harley. Bistro de Paris (4536 St-Denis), 9 p.m.

From Washington, D.C., stoner/psychedelic rock band Dead Meadow play Petit Campus, with local openers Mountain Dust. 57 Prince-Arthur E., 9:30 p.m., $15
