South African-Canadian Lorraine Klassen is a singer-songwriter Montrealers know well, from many Jazz Fest and Festival Nuits d’Afrique performances past. The daughter of famed South African jazz singer Thandi Klassen won a Juno Award for World Music Album of the Year for her 2012 release Tribute to Mariam Makeba. Yesterday the CBC recorded another of Klassen’s tributes, this one an original composition saluting the late Nelson Mandela. Watch it here:
