Little Italy cassette party

Fringe Fest continues! Check out our picks from the fest so far here.

Nostalgic for the sound of music via lo-fi, analogue tape? Well there’s a two-tiered cassette party happening in the Little Italy area, with music by New Breed Nick, DJ LRX-80 and guests. The party starts at Death of Vinyl (6307 St-Laurent, 6–9 p.m.) and continues at Notre Dame des Quilles (32 Beaubien E., 9 p.m.–2 a.m.)

The Infringement walking tour explores what one local writer calls “anglo Montreal’s longest-running cultural feud.” We’re not quite sure what that means, but you’ll experience street theatre, legendary bars and more. Bifteck (3702 St-Laurent), 7–8:30 p.m., PWYC

Mudland productions presents the premiere of Montreal Underground, a documentary about the local indie/DIY scene. Read our review here. Rialto Theatre (5723 Parc), 8 p.m., $10

Game bar Foonzo are starting a Trivia Night every other week on Wednesdays. Teams of up to six people compete for $50 to Foonzo, testing their knowledge in movies, TV shows, music and general know-how. Questions will likely be on the nerdy side, as this is a game bar after all. (1245 Drummond), 8 p.m., free

If you’re looking for free outdoor entertainment, the Francofolies festival has three quality acts in the Quartier des Spectacles tonight: Nomadic Massive’s Vox Sambou plays the Hydro-Québec stage (Clark & de Montigny) at 9 p.m., surf pop noir band la Femme play the Loto-Québec stage (Grand parterre, de Montigny & Clark) and hip hop collective K6A plays the La Presse stage (Clark & Ste-Catherine), the latter two at 10 p.m.
