INTERSTELLAR 10

INTERSTELLAR 10

Tuesday, Oct 8 , 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The INTERSTELLAR 10 concert tour comes to Montréal on October 8, featuring Roger Sayer, organ soloist on the Academy Award-nominated soundtrack to Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi blockbuster “Interstellar.”

Sayer worked closely with Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer to create the soundtrack for the film, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. Over the past decade, the music from “Interstellar” has developed a dedicated worldwide fandom.

Sayer created INTERSTELLAR 10 with his original arrangements of the movie soundtrack, for the solo organ. Since January, he has performed the concert to sold-out audiences in Japan, Australia, the United Kingdom and Europe. His cross-country tour of the concert will be Sayer’s first time performing in Canada.

His program brings to life the drama and intense emotions of the movie’s storyline, interweaving the main themes from the movie in one continuous captivating performance. The concert also includes additional space themed pieces: the opening theme from 2001: A Space Odyssey (Also sprach Zarathustra by Richard Strauss), and selections from The Planets by Gustav Holst. The concert will include a short documentary about the creation of the “Interstellar” soundtrack followed by an audience Q&A with Sayer.

INTERSTELLAR 10 in Montréal  takes place at The Church of S.t Andrew and St. Paul.

The Canadian concert tour of INTERSTELLAR 10 presented by the Royal Canadian College of Organists also travels to Halifax (October 5), Montréal (October 8), Toronto (October 19), Calgary (October 22) and Vancouver (October 25).
