Entwined Memories

Entwined Memories

Tuesday, May 13 5:30 p.m. to Saturday, Jun 7 8:30 p.m.

The Society for Arts and Technology, in collaboration with the Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab (C-Lab) – a leading cultural center for contemporary digital culture and innovation in Taipei – presents a selection of immersive short films that explore memory through a variety of visual and sound languages. Screening only for a very limited time — an experience not to be missed!

Presented under the SAT’s dome, this compilation showcases five short films by Taiwanese and international artists, distinguished by their technical mastery and artistic boldness. Together, these works delve into the echoes of memory through sensitive, poetic, and abstract narrative forms. Their worlds invite contemplation, introspection, and a rediscovery of the connections between perception, history, and imagination.

Each short film fully leverages the dome’s unique sound spatialization capabilities, delivering a novel and immersive experience. Channeled through its 93 speakers, the soundtracks create a three-dimensional environment that deepens the viewer’s sense of presence and immersion.

In our current digital age, where the synthetic creation of sound, images, and text pushes the boundaries of plausibility, our familiar reference points begin to blur. Our shared memory, along with our ability to shape reality, feels increasingly fragile. Within this shifting media landscape, art becomes a vital space to question, preserve, and reawaken our common experiences.

Screenings will take place at 5:30 PM and 8:30 PM on each scheduled date. Please visit our website for the full list of screening dates.
