Esben and the Witch

There’s a Pro-Choice Picnic today in Parc Lahaie, organized in response to the anti-abortion groups camped out in front of the medical services building at 30 St-Joseph E. (which houses, among other medical facilities and elderly care units, a Morgentaler clinic) for their annual 40 Days of Life Vigil/douchebag marathon. There will also be participatory choral performances and other activist-y hijinks. Corner of St-Joseph and St-Laurent, 1-4 p.m.

Martin Scorsese’s epic doc George Harrison: Living in the Material World quickly sold out its FIFA screening, so the arts film fest has kindly added another. Place des Arts, Cinquième salle (175 Ste-Catherine W.), 6:30 p.m., $12.44

Check out British three-piece goth band Esben and the Witch, with openers, Brooklyn-based psychedelic doom-rockers Heliotropes. Il Motore (179 Jean Talon West), 8:00 p.m., $15

Bask in the shambolic shimmer of Mac de Marco’s classic indie rock, supported by fellow Montrealers Alex Calder and Brave Radar. La Sala Rossa (4848 St-Laurent), 9 p.m., $15
