Denis Côté presents Ben Rivers’ Two Years at Sea at the PHI Centre

Get nostalgic about Montreal as it was at Le Plateau de mon enfance, a solo exhibition by painter Miriam Lanail presenting the neighbourhood as she remembers it from her childhood in the 1950s. Galerie du Mile End (5345 du Parc), 5:30 p.m., free

The PHI Centre’s Carte blanche à Denis Côté launches tonight, with the celebrated Montreal director on hand to present the first in his series of favourite contemporary films, Ben Rivers’ Two Years at Sea. 407 St-Pierre, 7:30 p.m., $11.25

Choreographer and plastics-maker Jan Fabre and Lisbeth Gruwez team up to present It’s Going to Get Worse and Worse and Worse, My Friend, a piece of highly politicized choreography, on to Jan. 19. Usine C (1345 Lalonde), 8 p.m.

Former Mirror reporter and part of our punk heritage, Chris Barry, teams up with James Clutch to spin ’70s punk, ‘60s garage, freakbeat and psychedelia. Le Bleury – Bar à Vinyle (2109 Bleury), 8 p.m.
