Montreal is the most anti-Pierre Poilievre city in Canada

Just 22% of Montrealers have a positive opinion of the Conservative Party leader.

According to a new study by theĀ Angus Reid Institute, 38% of Canadians have a favourable opinion of Conservative Party of Canada leader Pierre Poilievre, including just 22% of people in Montreal, the city where positive impressions of Poilievre are lowest.

Conversely, a majority of Canadians (57%), including 74% of Montrealers, say they have a negative opinion of Poilievre.

Net favourability of Pierre Poilievre currently sits at -19% nationally. In Montreal, that percentage decreases to -52%.

Previously, the city where Poilievre was found to be most favoured was Calgary (41%).

Overall, a majority of Canadians across all age groups, income and education levels have a negative opinion of Pierre Poilievre.

The Angus Reid Institute conducted an online survey from April 23 to 26, 2025, among a randomized sample of 2,820 Canadian adults who are members of Angus Reid Forum.
