75% of Quebecers say the Legault government has done a poor job on education

After over a month of teacher strikes, and today’s announcement that the province has to spend $300M on a student catch-up plan as a result, dissatisfaction with the CAQ’s handling of education is not surprising.

According to a study by the Angus Reid Institute, just 18% of Quebecers believe the Quebec government led by François Legault is doing a good job with regards to education.

75% say that the Legault government has done a poor job on education.

Overall, just 30% of Canadians are satisfied with their provincial government regarding education. The provinces with the highest scores are British Columbia and Newfoundland, at 40%. (For the complete table of results, please see page 2 in the report here.)

The Angus Reid Institute conducted an online survey from Nov. 24 – Dec. 1, 2023, among a representative randomized sample of 3,749 Canadian adults who are members of the Angus Reid Forum.
