According to a study by the Angus Reid Institute, 4 in 5 Canadians (78%) believe that grocery stores are taking advantage of inflation to make increased profits.

Just 7% of Canadians believe that grocery stores are not taking advantage of inflation, and that their increased profits are due to good management.

“Canadians are aligned across age, income, education, gender and political affiliation in believing that companies are taking advantage of inflation to increase their prices further than necessary. 4 in 5 across nearly all of these groups say this is the case, while 1 in 12 believe that these gains are from savvy business maneuvering.”
