Unvaccinated COVID patients more likely to have lung problems, need oxygen

The unvaccinated in Quebec are currently 8.2 times more likely to be hospitalized than someone who is vaccinated with two doses.

Medical microbiologist and infectious disease consultant Dr. Alex Carignan has explained the difference between symptoms experienced by hospital patients with COVID who are vaccinated and those who are unvaccinated.

”The portrait of vaccinated COVID patients is completely different from those who are unvaccinated,” Dr. Carignan said.

Carignan explains that COVID patients who are vaccinated are typically not very ill, and often end up hospitalized for another condition they have. Unvaccinated COVID patients however typically have problems in their lungs, and have high oxygen requirements.
