56% of Canadians still support lockdowns and restrictions to fight Omicron

61% of Quebecers are in favour of the return to lockdowns and restrictions, higher than any other province.

According to a new Léger poll, 56% of Canadians feel that governments are making the right decision by returning to lockdowns and restrictions to fight the spread of the Omicron variant. When looking at Quebec specifically, the percentage in favour of lockdowns and restrictions increases to 61%.

Conversely, a much lower percentage of Americans, 39%, favour lockdowns and restrictions in order to fight the spread of Omicron.

Overall, 31% of Canadians feel that governments need to leave things open and Canadians need to live with the risk posed by the virus.
