Disney Plus increases market share in Canada at expense of Prime & Crave

JustWatch has released their latest performance review of Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD) services in Canada, measuring the market share of the most popular streaming services across the country, including Netflix, Prime Video, Disney Plus and Crave.

According to Q3 results (July 1 to September 30), Disney Plus has increased its market share by 2%, from 15% to 17%. Amazon Prime Video, Crave and Starz all decreased their respective market shares by 1% each.

Prime Video is still the streaming service in Canada with the second highest market share, at 19%. Netflix has remained in first place, with 26%.

Disney Plus’s market share has been increasing dramatically since January 2021. Having grown 6% since the beginning of the year, they are the only consistently growing platform in the Canadian SVOD market.
