A new friperie/café/art gallery opens today in Ville Émard called Archibald & Alistair, and they’ll be celebrating today with an opening party and vernissage complete with live music, free samples of the café’s vegetarian, gluten-free menu and an art expo featuring works by Allison Morris, Jasmine Ethier, Alexandre Bouffard and Jon Estwards. 6361 Monk, 4–9 p.m., free

Canadian/European producer Adam Traynor premieres his new online comedy series Le Ball Trap with an event at the Festival du nouveau cinéma. Following a screening of the series, the show’s soundtrack composer Victor Le Masne will perform live, as will violinist/composer Sarah Neufeld and indie rock anthemists the World Provider. American indie auteur filmmaker Jim Jarmusch has made a documentary about punk legends Iggy Pop and the Stooges — Gimme Danger — and after screenings at Cannes and other stops on the festival circuit, the film comes to Montreal’s FNC.
