Tonight, check out a performance by local band Dear Denizen plus new collections on the runway from Eliza Faulkner, the Trollsen Twins, Reluxe, Mon Préféré, Féline Dion and Waxman House. Place des Festivals, 6–10 p.m., free

As part of the Cinema Sous les Étoiles film series, 2015 Noam Chomsky documentary Requiem for the American Dream is screening in Laurier park, in English with French subtitles — watch the trailer here. The feature will be preceded by a 20-minute bilingual Quebec film called Détroit, une ville à réplanter. Mentana & Laurier, 8:30 p.m., free

Supergroup alert! Tavis E. Triance, who followers of the local scene may know from his previous acts Royal Mountain Band and Spoon River, plays with his new band Tavis E. Bonus: The openers are Roy Vucino’s latest project, Birds of Paradise. Divan Orange (4234 St-Laurent), 9:30 p.m., $15
