The McCord Museum opens its doors tonight for a special After Hours 5à9 with access to the current exhibits (including a retrospective of the late illustrator and graphic designer Vittorio Fiorucci, who you can read about in our in-depth feature here), plus cocktails, performances, new artworks by street artists Whatisadam and Tava, guided tours and DJ Killa Jewel serving up the tunes. 690 Sherbrooke W., 5–9 p.m., $20/$16 in advance

Concordia University’s speaker series Conversations in Contemporary Art invites hip hop artist (and Concordia lecturer) Yassin ‘Narcy’ Alsalman (aka the Narcicyst) for a discussion about the possibilities of art and music as agents of social change, through the international collective We Are the Medium, recently launched between a group of Narcy and his peers. 1395 René-Lévesque W., 6–8 p.m., free

Fantasia’s on-going monthly screening series Les rendez-vous Fantasia screens the festival hit Tales of Halloween, an anthology film with segments by favorites like Lucky McKee (May), Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II) and Neil Marshall (Dog Soldiers).
