CULTMTL_Summer-Sizzler_POSTER-1

Today is the day. It’s Cult MTL’s anniversary (2 years!), and we’re throwing our second annual summer sizzler, featuring DJs, grub (for omnivores and vegetarians) by SAT’s Foodlab and a stack of bands courtesy of M for Montreal, namely the Posterz, Seoul, Saxsyndrum, Folly & the Hunter, Safia Nolin, Heart Streets and le Trouble. Attendance is mandatory! SAT (1201 St-Laurent), 3–10 p.m., $5

The Montreal Roller Derby goes all in for a Double-Header today, in which Montreal teams Les Filles du Roi and La Racaille duke it out, followed by international action with the New Skids on the Block taking on Chicago’s Windy City Rollers. If that ain’t enough to get you moving, maybe the 2-for-$5 beer will clinch it. Arena St-Louis (5633 St-Dominique), 6 p.m., $10–$15

If you’ve ever attended a workshop or used the facilities at the Ste-Émilie Skillshare, now is the time to help a sister out! Gentrification in the southwest is forcing the collective to give up their space, and they’re raising funds to help find a new one with a show, featuring Loosestrife, Force Quit, Aunty Panty, Vibe Wrecker and Era Libre. NDG Legion Hall (5455 de Maisonneuve W.), 7:30 p.m., $5/PWYC, all ages

Down at Luwan, the new club/lounge in Chinatown, What’s Really Good hosts a release party for vol. 7 of their magazine, feat. DJs Canblaster (from Paris), New Money, Ledisko, Flimsey Goods and Ponsolo. 1050 Clark, 8 p.m.

Further uptown at la Sala Rossa, recurring LGBT-oriented hip hop party Cousins is back, with guest DJs Cadence Weapon and San Francisco’s DJ Rapid Fire. 4848 St-Laurent, 10 p.m., $5
