Both Macaulay Culkin’s pizza-themed Velvet Underground cover band (the Pizza Underground) and Swedish rapper Yung Lean are playing Montreal tonight. But both shows are sold out. Here are some other things to do today:

Fantasia Under the Stars kicks off with a screening of McLaren Under the Stars, a collection of animator Norman McLaren’s best shorts. Place de la Paix (next to SAT, 1201 St-Laurent), 9 p.m., free

Maybe tonight is the night to head to the Old Port and watch the weekly fireworks competition, whether you watch from the official site or simply somewhere nearby. Tonight, the lights in the sky are designed by Spain. 10 p.m., $51.64–$70.64/free

Get your fill of live punk, power pop & indie rock at Brasserie Beaubien, where Passovah & Loose Fit present Winnipeg’s Conduct (ex-Departures) and Tunic with Montreal acts No Aloha (formerly She’s) and Feefawfum. 73 Beaubien E., 10 p.m., suggested donation $5–$10

Guess who’s back? Hip Hop Karaoke, hosted by D-Shade, with beats by Shash’U. Le Belmont (4483 St-Laurent), 10 p.m., $5 before 11 p.m./$10

The seventh edition of Third Bass brings drum & bass, deep house, glitch hop, tropical bass and dark techno to the dancefloor at Cabaret Playhouse. 5656 Parc, 10 p.m., free before 11 p.m./$5
