La Fête Nationale

Bonne St-Jean! It’s la Fête Nationale, and if you’ve got the day off today, make the most of it. The weather forecast is calling for storms, so be aware of that when you choose your divertissement:

Get over to the Fake store, site of a vernissage for the first photo exhibit by DJ Budda Blaze, taken while he was on the road with the group he manages, A Tribe Called Red. Pro-V provides the music and the first 20 people to show up will walk away with a gift bag. 72 Rachel E., 1–7 p.m.

Poirier & Ghostbeard are hosting a very special all-day St-Jean Baptiste edition of Sud-West at Terrasse St-Ambroise. This month it’s beats, BBQ, beer and Baptiste. Get a feel for the duo’s sound here. 5080 St-Ambroise, 3–11 p.m., no cover

If you’d rather do something low-key today, head over to Cinéma du Parc to check out Richard Ayoade’s The Double, based on the Dostoyevsky novella. 3575 Parc, 9:30 p.m., $11.50
