Dangerous Acts

Miracles is a band feat. Hugo Mudie (the former frontman of defunct local bands the Sainte Catherines and Yesterday’s Ring, and the founder of the Pouzza Festival) and Fred Jacques and they’re launching their new record, Motels, at the Holiday Inn. (Too bad they couldn’t book this place.) 420 Sherbrooke W., 5:30–7 p.m., free

Brutopia hosts the first Montreal Indie Filmmakers Booze n’ Schmooze — a great networking opportunity for local filmmakers and actors. 1219 Crescent, 7 p.m., free, donations accepted

Cinema Politica premiere Dangerous Acts, a documentary that follows a defiant theatre troupe in Belarus as their underground performances challenge antiquated mores, stereotypes and censorship in the last European dictatorship. Hall Building CSU Lounge (1455 de Maisonneuve W., 7th floor), 7 p.m., suggested donation $2–$5

You might know Xarah Dion as one half of les Momies de Palerme (the other half being Marie Davidson). She’s got a new project called Nouveau Zodiaque, and she’s playing la Sala Rossa alongside Black Givre, Gambletron, Super Fossil Power and Gives. More details here. 4848 St-Laurent, 8 p.m., PWYC
