At Kreyon Pèp La Pa Gen Gòm (The People’s Pencil Has No Eraser): Art as a mediator of history and social change in Haiti British photographer Leah Gordon and Michaëlle Jean speak as part of a panel discussion the country’s political climate (read our profile piece on Leah Gordon’s ongoing Kanaval exhibit here). PHI Centre (407 St-Pierre), 7 p.m., free

The PHI Centre launches its Carte blanche to Stéphane Lafleur tonight. The local filmmaker (Continental, En terrains connus) and musician (Avec pas d’casque) starts the series of his personal picks with Jem Cohen’s Chain (2004), a genre hybrid of documentary, fiction and experimental film set in a corporate dystopia. PHI Centre (407 St-Pierre), 7 p.m., $11.25

Check out creepy theatre lab love u lovecraft, The Other Theatre’s horror story about losing a child inspired by the author’s scary short stories. Bain St-Michel (5300 St-Dominique), 8 p.m., PWYC

It’s a sold-out show, but those with tickets (or cash for scalpers) should report to the Telus Theatre, where Shigeto opens for Bonobo (see our profile on the producer here). 1280 St-Denis, 9 p.m., $28.25

Alternately, Euro electro-punk pranksters Stereo Total are back, with support from locals Karneef and Jealous Lovers. Il Motore (179 Jean-Talon W.), 9 p.m., $16
