Tango’s Revenge, opening tonight at Cinéma du Parc

So the apocalypse is apparently upon us, and that could mean a whole lot of things, but chief among them is the fact that you may never enjoy another meal. So get your eat on, possibly for the last time ever, at the Souper Apocalyptique Foodlab. Private wine importers Oenopole will be on hand to, uh, keep your spirits up (sorry). Tango’s Revenge, a doc on a new generation of musicians reinventing the famous Argentinian music form, opens tonight at Cinéma du Parc. Director Francine Pelletier will do a Q&A after the early screening and introduce the late one. 3575 Parc, 6 p.m. and 9:15 p.m.

Over the past few months, the RuePublique art collective hosted a series of workshops that saw folks make their own lanterns. Today, the fruits of that lantern-making labour will be on display when participants parade their creations through Mile End, from Parc Jeanne-Mance to the YMCA at the corner of St-Viateur, where hot chocolate and cake will be waiting for them (and hopefully you, too). 6:15 p.m., Parc Jeanne-Mance (Mont-Royal at Esplanade)
