L’Amour à Minuit: Alice in Wonderland – An X-Rated Musical Fantasy (1976)

Based on and loosely following the plot of Lewis Carroll’s “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland,” the film brings Alice through a sexual awakening in Wonderland with a cast of perverse and sexually charged characters. Taking the viewer along for the trip, this comedic romp is charged with many musical numbers, sexual consciousness, imagination and ultimately, friendship. The film was shot in upstate New York, the summer of 1975, was one of the first porn parodies with a budget of half-a-million, and made around 90 million in box-office sales upon its censored R-rated release. This version is the later X-rated cut.

“If it feels good, there’s a good chance it must be bad!” “Alice, if it feels good, it is good. Learn to trust yourself.”

L.A.M. screenings aim to curate a selection of vintage films that evoke nostalgia, romance, and a sense of wonder. As midnight strikes, Cinema L’Amour will be reborn, presenting a diverse repertoire of forgotten gems from a bygone era. Venture into a thrilling cinematic journey, embracing the allure of gorgeous set design, captivating storytelling, and playful eroticism.

Join us for a night of celebration as we honour the past, embrace the present, and embark on a new chapter in the extraordinary tale of Cinema L’Amour.

Please note the film will be presented in English without subtitles. 78 mins.
