Monday, Aug 12 , 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Andrew Bird is an internationally acclaimed, Grammy-nominated multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, whistler, and songwriter who picked up his first violin at the age of four and spent his formative years soaking up classical repertoire completely by ear. Since beginning his recording career in 1997, Bird has released 17 albums and performed extensively across the globe. He has recorded with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, appeared as “Dr. Stringz” on Jack’s Big Music Show, and headlined concerts at Carnegie Hall, Sydney Opera House, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and festivals worldwide.

After seven acclaimed international albums, gold and platinum discs and countless sold-out concerts, Amadou & Mariam, one of Africa’s most successful and popular musical exports have been using lockdown to recharge their batteries. “When we are in Bamako we usually like to spend time with our family and friends and learn about the changes that happened while we were touring,” explains Amadou Bagayoko. “This year it has been very challenging being away from our fans, and our thought are with everyone affected by the virus, and with our musicians and technicians, who have been without work all year. We have been using our time to reconnect with our roots in Mali, feeling the vibe of our neighbourhood and engaging with busy charities and other groups.”
