If you’re looking for a movie to see on the big screen this weekend, Chappie is the shit.

The Under the Snow music festival presents the two-day Salon du Disque et des Arts Underground expo, featuring a fine spread of records, art, trinkets, zines and more. Eglise St-Denis (5075 Rivard), 11 a.m.5 p.m.

The Lost Cabaret pays tribute to French Grand Guignol horror theatre in the first of its two-show fundraiser for Montreal’s Scapegoat Carnivale Theatre. Tongiht’s performers include Francesca Daoust, Cat Kidd, Vanessa Rigaux, Loose Tooth (Lar Vi) and house band the JEM. La Vitrola (4602 St-Laurent), 8:30 p.m., $20

Get your dose of alt with British duo Ultimate Painting (feat. members of Veronica Falls and Mazes), with locals Sheer Agony and Alex Calder. Bar le Ritz PDB (179 Jean-Talon W.), 9:30 p.m., $8/$10

Pardon us for stating the obvious, but dancing is great way to spend a Saturday night. Datcha’s dancefloor beckons with Lost Heroes. 98 Laurier W., 11 p.m.
