Théâtre Outremont is offering an advance screening of the documentary Shekinah: The Intimate Life of Hasidic Women. The film will be followed by a panel discussion featuring director Abbey Neidik. 1248 Bernard W., 2 p.m. & 8 p.m., $15/$10 for students

The third edition of Art + Activism explores art and social justice in the face of government austerity measures. Le Cagibi (5490 St-Laurent), 2–4 p.m., free

After a sold-out screening at Fantasia, Le Cinéclub: The Film Society is bringing back War of the Worlds: Welles & Wells, a documentary about Welles’s famous broadcast of the Wells sci-fi classic. Cinéma VA-114 (1395 René-Lévesque W.), 7 p.m., $8/ or $6 for students or 65+

See Montreal rock ’n’ roll at its wildest via Berlin-based band King Khan and the Shrines, playing with Hellshovel and Vomit Squad. La Tulipe (4530 Papineau), 8 p.m., $20

La Brique est morte, vive la Brique! is a wake/benefit/party for the former tenants of the latest in a series of regrettable underground-loft closures. There are some decent local bands on board, namely TOPS, Essaie Pas, Police des Moeurs and Pyongyang, with MC Blake Hargreaves and DJs Mother, Paul Trafford and Void Republic. La Sala Rossa (4848 St-Laurent), 9 p.m., $10 (proceeds go to paying off the space’s municipal tax debt)

The Halloween edition of Korova weekly Who Cares? features the entire crew in slutty costumes, and you can too! DJs Great Pumpkin John Vickers, Yelawerewolf and Count Drake Ula will keep asses on the floor. 3908 St-Laurent, 10:30 p.m., free
