An all-indie pop-up studio sale kicks off today, with deals on duds by atelier b., Josiane Perron, Rachel F. and Mimi Hammer Swimwear. Atelier B. (5758 St-Laurent), 5–7 p.m., free entry

Vice magazine launches its annual photo edition, which launches with a photo exhibition and party. Galerie Yves Laroche (6355 St-Laurent), 7–11 p.m., free

Cinéma du Parc offers Just for Laughs shorts Tout Court (7 p.m.) and Eat My Shorts (9 p.m.) 90-minute compendiums showcasing the best shorts of the year. 3575 Parc, general admission $11.50

The MEG music festival launches with three cool shows today: the Techno Parade at the PHI Centre (407 St-Pierre,10 p.m., $23), a showcase of local hip hop with Alaclair Ensemble, Dead Obies and Cargo Culte at la Sala Rossa (4848 St-Laurent, 9:30, $25) and an electro-rock/post-punk mash-up with Vancouver’s Human Human and Montreal acts UN and CTZNSHP at Divan Orange (4234 St-Laurent, 9:30 p.m., $12).

The MEG Montreal Festival is included in the Festi+ Pass.
