Rae Spoon and Ivan Coyote’s Gender Failure at la Sala Rossa

École de la Montagne Rouge, the group responsible for many of the hundreds of posters, t-shirts and slogans used in the tuition hike protests of the Printemps Érable, launches their exhibition Création en temps de crise sociale with a vernissage. UQÁM Centre de Design (1440 Sanguinet), 6 p.m.

Metric, that now-rare breed of indie band who’ve spent years working their way up to arena status, play the Bell Centre with fellow local-ish popsters Stars in tow. 1260 de la Gauchetière, 7 p.m., $48-$61

Cinéma du Parc screens Detropia, the Detroit documentary our critic described as “equal parts magical dream and terrifying nightmare.” 3575 Parc, 7 p.m., $11.50

Also at the Parc, the complete Woody Allen retrospective wraps up tonight and tomorrow with the latest in his not-so-bad late period of European travelogue comedies, To Rome With Love, tonight at 7 p.m. and Thursday at 9 p.m.

Writer Ivan Coyote and musician Rae Spoon present their show Gender Failure, a musical exploration of their shared inability to fit into the “gender binary.” La Sala Rossa (4848 St-Laurent), doors 7:30 p.m., show 8 p.m., $10-$15

It’s opening night for Third Eye Ensemble’s The Exonerated, a play about six prisoners relieved from a death row sentence, written by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen and directed by Kent McQuaid. Espace 4001 (4001 Berri), 8 p.m., $15

Local emcee and producer Jai Nitai Lotus launches his new set of experimental hip hop, Something You Feel, with a live band of 514 all-stars, and special guests. O Patro Vys (356 Mont-Royal E.), 8 p.m., $5/$10 with CD
