Quebec is the most anti-Trump province in Canada

Just 20% of Canadians have a positive opinion of Donald Trump.

According to a study by the Angus Reid Institute, 20% of Canadians have a positive opinion of Donald Trump, including just 16% in Quebec, the province where favourability of Trump is the lowest.

The provinces where Trump is most popular are Saskatchewan (29%) and Alberta (27%).

Overall, 76% of Canadians have a negative impression of Donald Trump, including 80% in Quebec.

Donald Trump’s net favourability in Canada sits at -56%.

Favourability of Donald Trump is highest among Conservatives (40%), and lowest among Liberal (8%) and NDP (5%) voters. (For the complete table of results, please see page 5 in the report here.)

The study also found that 90% of Canadians oppose Canada joining the United States.

A previous study by Léger found that 45% of Conservatives would have supported Donald Trump if they could vote in the U.S. presidential election.

The Angus Reid Institute conducted an online survey from Jan. 10 to 13, 2025 among a representative randomized sample of 1,653 Canadian adults who are members of Angus Reid Forum.
