Quebec is the most anti-Trump province in Canada

Just 17% of Canadians have a positive opinion of Donald Trump.

According to a study by the Angus Reid Institute, 17% of Canadians have a positive opinion of Donald Trump, including just 10% in Quebec, the province where favourability of Trump is the lowest.

The province where Trump is most popular is Saskatchewan (28%).

Overall, 80% of Canadians have a negative impression of Donald Trump, including 85% in Quebec. Donald Trump’s net favourability in Canada sits at -63%.

Favourability of Donald Trump is highest among Conservatives (33%), and lowest among Liberal (6%) and NDP (4%) voters. (For the complete table of results, please see page 5 in the report here.)

A seperate Angus Reid study also found that 90% of Canadians oppose Canada joining the United States.

A previous study by Léger found that almost 50% of Conservatives would have supported Donald Trump if they could have voted in the U.S. presidential election.

The Angus Reid Institute conducted an online survey from Feb. 27 to March 3, 2025, among a representative randomized sample of 2,005 Canadian adults who are members of Angus Reid Forum.
