Hudson’s Bay to relaunch Zellers, lowest price to become law once again

Hudson’s Bay Company has announced that the company is re-launching the discount department store Zellers in early 2023, first as an online retailer, and later opening brick and mortar stores in certain HBC locations across Canada.

Zellers was founded in 1931 and, at its peak, had 350 locations, before closing in 2013. The chain was acquired by the Bay in 1978.

Zellers is known for its slogan “Where the lowest price is the law,” which the company used variations of in the late ’80s and ’90s.
