Appointment of Martine Musau Muele a milestone for Montreal City Hall

Mayor Valérie Plante has released a statement today announcing Martine Musau Muele as the new president of the municipal council of Montreal, the first Black woman to hold the position. Plante referred to Musau Muele as an “exceptional lawyer and a passionate Montrealer who will brilliantly occupy this important position.”

Yesterday, Valérie Plante revealed the new executive committee of Montreal, of which 9 of the 14 members are women.
