Check out a double-vernissage at Artgang tonight with the exhibits The Waking, the Sleeping and All the Nihilism in Between featuring drawings, sculptures and neon light installations by Portuguese artist and illustrator Wasted Rita, plus the group expo Show Face, with works by artists like Jonathan Cruz, Earth Crusher, Jesse Hazelip, Jaber and Emily Jan exploring the aesthetics and meaning of masks. Join League of Lady Wrestlers alums Ula and Lilac as they take on “The Man” over two nights of a dramatic Halloween-themed edition of the spirit sisters’ Earthbound Sci Fi Wrestling performance in Quartier Latin’s Sacred Square. 2050 Joly, 9 p.m., $8–$15 PWYC, continues through Saturday

En Cachette is the site and Mike Stevens is the host of an old-school party inspired by the recent Netflix series The Get Down, chronicling the dawn of hip hop in the Bronx circa the late ’70s. Music by Godfather D. 1765 St-Denis, 10 p.m., price unlisted

Merrill Garbus of tUnE-yArDs returns to Montreal with her DJ project Momomano, focusing on world rhythms by female (and female-identifying) artists. Catch her set tonight at Datcha with Pat Jordache in the booth, too. 98 Laurier E., 11 p.m., price unlisted

Directly following their annual Grande Soirée d’Horreur, the Spasm festival hosts a very special 35th anniversary screening of The Evil Dead, featuring four cast members from the smokin’ horror classic. Club Soda (1225 St-Laurent), Grande Soirée begins at 8 p.m., screening at 11:59 p.m., $25 for both events/$20 for the screening alone
