It’s day one of this weekend’s Old Port-based food fest YUL EAT, offering tons of activities including tastings, meals, workshops and performances. Today’s program includes a farmers’ market, workshops on topics like breadmaking, beekeeping  and cocktails, plus an evening concert with Francis Faubert, la Bronze and Klô Pelgag. Three new exhibitions open with a vernissage at Petite-Patrie’s Art Mûr today, including Guillaume Lachapelle’s Night Shift, which uses mirrors and lights to symbolize the alienation of urban life, Magalie Comeau’s shadowy oil paintings of Différences évanouissantes and colourful abstract canvases of Trevor Kiernander’s Event Horizon: This Must Be the Place. 5826 St-Hubert, 3–5 p.m., free

Head to Bar le Ritz PDB for tonight’s annual Rad Frosh Benefit Show, featuring performances by Phèdre, Hand Cream and m.a, with proceeds going to support the organizations Indigenous Women and Two-Spirit Harm Reduction Coalition and Reclaim Turtle Island.
