Postponed from yesterday due to rain, the kick-off for this summer’s weekend outdoor parties at Village au Pied du Courant is happening today, with live music, DJs, food trucks and a bunch of new installations on site. 2100 Notre Dame E., 5–11 p.m.

Head to Arsenal for the opening of the Automata exhibition as part of digital arts festival Elektra, featuring futuristic interactive installations and performances including “Inferno” by Louis-Philippe Demers & Bill Vorn, Blink-LSD – Light Sound and Death by Steve Buchanan, Boris Edelstein and Laetitia Doizelle, Vertex by Jean Piché and Patrick Saint-Denis plus plenty more. 2020 William, 7 p.m., $25

Tune up your ride and go for a spin with a few thousand of your friends at this evening’s Tour la Nuit, 50-kilometre bike tour across the city, part of Vélo Québec’s Go Vélo Festival. Departing from Parc & Duluth, 8:15 p.m., $48–$69

Being a spectator is fun enough but you can still register to take part in the second annual Quebec air guitar championships, happening tonight at Divan Orange — the winner will go to the national championship in Toronto. See the details here. 4234 St-Laurent, 8:30 p.m., $10

The Suoni per il Popolo fest is in full swing, and tonight, as part of the festival’s Transmissions show series, check out Jef Elise Barbara’s Black Space, a show featuring (and curated by) the local R&B/pop-star, alongside Dishwasher, Elena Stoodley and Strange Froots. La Sala Rossa (4848 St-Laurent), 9:30 p.m., $8/$10

Get to Artgang for an Afropop, soca and dancehall party care of the monthly Qualité de Luxe with Poirier, Mr. Touré and Kyou. 6524 St-Hubert, 10 p.m., free
