PHOTOS: Montreal celebs play soccer for charity

Figures from Montreal’s music, film, nightlife and restaurant scenes took to the pitch yesterday, ahead of July’s charity soccer tourney, GOAL MTL.

Montreal’s celebrities took to the pitch Wednesday at the Canadiens’ Bell Sports Complex in Brossard as part of a fundraising event for Community Cares and the Tyndale-St. Georges Community Centre. The soccer game was also the kick-off of the 2015 edition of the GOAL MTL football invitational (happening on July 26), wherein reps from local bars and restaurants (as well one VIP team) play in a 24-team tournament to raise money for the community programs and compete to win the Lions Cup.

Celebrities who participated in yesterday’s VIP game included actor Marc-André Grondin, Olympians Charles & Francois Hamelin, Paul Desbaillets of Burgundy Lion and Brit & Chips, Park Restaurant chef Antonio Park, rapper Cadence Weapon and rock bro Jonas Tomalty:
